What to Expect
01: Initial Consultation (virtual)
You will be asked to complete an extensive intake form and submit any recent labs and imaging before your first visit. This allows Dr. Parrish to review the materials and make the most of your time together. Please allow 90 minutes for your initial consultation.
02: Functional Medicine Testing
Depending on your previous lab work and health history, Dr. Parrish may order additional testing to understand your underlying biochemistry and patterns. These tests can include bloodwork, salivary testing, or stool testing to assess thyroid function, gut health, micronutrient status, food allergies, environmental toxins, and more. See testing options here >
03: Personalized Health Plan
Once your lab results are received, you’ll have a consultation to review the results and receive a comprehensive plan to help you feel better through the postpartum period and beyond. Naturopathic recommendations might include nutrition, supplementation, homeopathy, or other natural therapies to support and optimize your body’s health.
04: Optimization & Coordination
Lasting change doesn’t happen overnight! Follow-up consultations are important for modifying your plan and keeping you moving toward feeling your best. Dr. Parrish also believes patients are best served when they have a team of health care providers and often refers to conventional doctors or specialists (including your ob-gyn, endocrinologists, nutritionists, therapists, acupuncturists, or pelvic PT specialists) to coordinate complete care.
Please note that all consultations are conducted virtually. Dr. Parrish’s care is designed to complement your routine postpartum care. Patients should maintain an established OB/GYN, midwife, primary care provider, or other appropriate healthcare provider for postpartum examinations and in-person medical needs.
